The Relativity Technical Engineer is responsible for ensuring the success of new Relativity (and related technologies) customers and projects in the CLCS hosted SAAS and Cloud based environments by focusing on all performance related issues from a hardware and software and IT systems perspective. The position will require a heavy focus on consultation for clients and internal CLCS groups. The position will also support the user experience by generating custom reports and managing tasks requiring custom development. The position will interact with a variety of other CLCS teams to ensure that all resources are properly aligned to meet client needs and expectations. The position is responsible for working with customers and other CLCS team members to help fully resolve any and all technology related performance issues with the SAAS infrastructure. The position will require extended and off hours support including weekends and nights.
The position reports to the Director of Professional Services.
Consult with client and internal groups best-of-practice, innovative, custom and advantageous use of Relativity (and related technologies) based on in-depth knowledge and experience with front end and back end architecture.
Be the level 3 escalation from customers and/or team members for Relativity systems performance related issues.Escalate to other teams or team members as required.Own issues until they are resolved.
Write SQL statements for ad-hoc report generation or corrective actions
Design, assist, modify, support custom RDO and Fact Manager implementations
Analyse code for problem resolution and performance optimizations.
Develop routines for end-users to facilitate best practices database use
Write and troubleshoot SQL Code and design (stored procedure, functions etc.)
Create required reports in response to business user needs.
Be available 24x7 for support escalations, as required during off-hours.
Assist with sales and pre-sales related activities (RFPs, sales presentations, etc.)
Work closely with other CLCS delivery teams, including processing and systems teams to ensure project requirements, timelines and objectives are met.
Engage regularly with key clients directly to ensure projects are progressing properly and are meeting expectations.Communicate challenges to the appropriate teams.
Assist with the design and implementation of the Relativity systems and database infrastructure, including hardware and software environment, and all related systems architecture.
Analyse and resolve SQL Server-related database incidents and problems, as well as hardware or other IT systems related issues.
Perform SQL Server-related database customer delivery and demand requests (scripts, recoveries, etc.)
Create scripts and T-SQL packages for data integration, data maintenance or bug fixes
Work with Relativity technical support as required to resolve software related issues which cannot be solved locally.
Analyse, define and write system requirements for data, workflow, logical processes, interfaces with other systems, auditing, reporting requirements and production configuration.
Proactively conduct research and make recommendations on future systems upgrades, including database adjustments and optimizations, new products, services, protocols, development efforts, etc.
Manage custom development tasks related to Relativity, both internally and with 3 rd party providers.
Review release notes for all Relativity patch, point and version releases and ensure critical items are communicated to relevant stakeholders.
Work to establish scalable support team structures and solutions (help desks, knowledgebase, etc.) to provide outstanding service in a cost-effective manner.
Provide regular status updates to all stakeholders at appropriate intervals including customers as well as Business Development and Senior Management teams.
Perform analysis on document populations
Aid in other services with the Professional Services umbrella.
Relativity Certified Administrator. Relativity Analytics Specialist certified, Relativity Assisted Review certified and Brainspace Analyst Certification are all a plus.
3-5 years of prior DBA experience supporting the Relativity platform in an e-Discovery environment.
Outstanding customer service skills.
Demonstrated experience consulting clients and internal groups in both ad-hoc and project based settings.
Deep technical understanding of the Relativity architecture, SQL environment, and underlying hardware and network technologies on which these systems run.
Deep SQL, T-SQL experience in Relativity environment
Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot Relativity systems performance issues, regardless of root cause.
Strong experience in Database Administration and Development in SQL Server ( 2005/2008/2008R2/2012/2014/2016 ).
Experience in troubleshooting and resolving database integrity issues, performance issues, blocking and deadlocking issues, connectivity issues, security issues etc.
Strong knowledge of how indexes, index management, integrity checks, configuration, patching. How statistics work, how indexes are stored, how they can be created and managed effectively.
Experience in Performance Tuning, Query Optimization, using Performance Monitor, SQL Profiler and other related monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
Ability to detect and troubleshoot SQL Server related CPU, Memory, I/O, disk space and other resource contention.
Experience developing custom solutions within Relativity, including advanced applications and event handlers.
Ability to work flexible hours to meet client inquiries and meetings as needed in a demanding, fast-paced, start-up environment.
Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal.
Excellent organizational skills, follow-through and attention to detail.
Expert level understanding of e-Discovery principles, requirements and associated review/production workflows.
Experience in Compliance industry is a plus.
